Dancing Lance’s Family HoeDown
Join celebrated square dance caller and dancer Lance Olds for an old time hoedown! Lance will teach you all you need to know to enjoy this afternoon of American folk dance including favorites like the Virginia Reel, Cotton Eyed Joe, and many more. Pull on your boots and come promenade with the entire family. No partner or dance experience necessary.
Tickets: $15 adult ($20 at the door) / $5 children under 12
LANCE OLDS has been delighting audiences with performances of American and other folk dance for many years with Pat Cannon’s Foot and Fiddle Dance Company, where he also calls square dances for audiences of all ages! Lance is also in demand as a teacher and performer of Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dance. You can see him perform as a principal dancer in Steven Speilberg’s upcoming film The Post, as well as Enchanted, Stepford Wives, Mona Lisa Smile, and Kate & Leopold. Lance has taught Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dance at Stepping Out Studios, NYU’s Coles Sports Center, and the NYC Park’s Department’s “Dancing Under the Stars” program. He also performed in the 1st National Tour of the Broadway musical Footloose, and in Robert Longbottom’s production of Carnival! at the Kennedy Center.
