RCJBS presents Mayra Casales & Cocomama

Rockland County Jazz and Blues Society presents:

Mayra Casales-percussion and vocals, Nicki Denner-piano and vocals, Jennifer Vincent-Bass, Pablo Bencid-drums, Ariacne Trujillo–vocals

One of the most versatile and well rounded percussionists of her generation, Nyack resident Mayra Casales has performed with Regina Carter, Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Ray Baretto, and many more. Now as a leader, she has assembled an all women’s Latin Jazz band with influences from Afro-Cuban, Classical, Latin American, Jazz, Soul, R&B, and beyond. Playing their own kind of World Latin Music, Cocomama “brings it,” creating a sound that is all at once fierce and beautiful!
