About the Exhibit
Through Monday May 1st
In Gallery 2 on the second floor, Roisin Reilly presents paintings inspired by her surroundings at home and outdoors in the Lower Hudson Valley. Each canvas is treated with a mix of cheesecloth and plaster to create texture, then painted in washes of acrylic. In her work she strives, she says, “to be minimal and simple.” In addition to her artwork on display at Roost/UAC, Roisin has a design business in which she specializes in decorative finishes, gilding, murals, and Venetian plaster. She installed the Venetian plaster for the interior walls of Roost. Roisin grew up in New City, NY, and earned a BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York City, during which she studied abroad for a year in Paris.
