In Gallery 1, Andrea Baruffi showcases a collection of prints made from his original acrylic paintings. Baruffi, a former illustrator and longtime resident of Piermont, returned to Italy after retirement. He previously worked in New York for major advertising agencies and children’s book publishers. 

Baruffi’s artistic style is characterized by whimsy and humor. Many of the original acrylic paintings, from which the “Playful” series of art prints are made, range in size from 60” x 80” to 80” x 80”. They are available for purchase directly from the artist’s studio, located two hours north of Florence. His work is widely exhibited throughout Italy.

Baruffi received classical training in art at the prestigious Liceo Artistico in Bologna and holds a degree in architecture from the University of Florence. He cites Edward Hopper and Caravaggio among his favorite artists.
